Cheeseburger Heaven

Long about 10 years ago, whilst I was still on the road for ADOT, I would arrive home, after spending all week traveling the Southwest, on Thursday night......and, in celebration, I haphazardly developed a Thursday evening ritual.....Pork Steak Night! I would, in a little toaster oven that I wish I still had, broil two fat, juicy pork steaks,,,,my Welcome Home Meal!
Then, in January of 1999, I moved to Rural, Arizona, having taken "early retirement".....shortly thereafter, I met my friend, Bill, who, at 25 pounds, was a healthy, young 3-year-old Welsh Corgi of the Pembroke Persuasion.......
Together, as we got to know one another, we developed Thursday Night into Cheeseburger Night! Three big, fat, half-pounders, with Sweet Vidalia Onions, mayo, Velveeta, or Sharp Cheddar, on really good bread! Two of these, often with homemade fries, went straight to my venerable waistland and old Bill got an entire plate, a clone of mine sans the extra burger.....
Well, Folks, it's been awhile since I stopped that action! Bill is now 10 years old and weighs in at nigh on 50 pounds!
So, August 9, 2006, was sort of a "Special Occassion" Version of the old Cheeseburger Thursday Night around camp! And Bill only got nibbles, no full plate for ol' fatso! NO!
Reckon I could stand to lose some, too, though......I'm up 20 pounds in the last year!
