I am Humbled.
I have been offered a large slice of Humble Pie this evening and I accepted the offer. It was Sweet! It was Delicious! As I savored the Taste, the old hippie who sits in my corner chair, He who watched but did not Judge as I set myself up for this, yesterday, seemed to smile.
Yesterday, a day off, I became overwhelmed by the huge amount of E-Mail I receive and I went off the deep end, composed a "Rant & Rave" piece, complete with "Sniveling", worthy of every vain fool who ever lived.
Today, I have begun receiving the fruits of my inane endeavor........
I sincerely hope all who received the tripe I sent out yesterday read this Post........I, in fact, would ask you who are reading it to pass it on to any folk you think may have been in my firing range!
Then, tonight, a little miracle (most Miracles are "little", I think!) arrived in the body of a piece forwarded to me by one of my Old Friends, Dave, a Friend of 15 years, to me!
This is it:
Subject: Heaven & Hell A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said,"Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like." The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. Theyappeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. TheLord said, "You have seen Hell." They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well-nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand." " It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."
I have been Arrogant, Vain & Greedy toward many of my Dear Friends!
For this, I Wish to Apologize!
I, in fact, Do Apologize!
I am Sorry, My Friends!
Now, the gent in the Corner, the Son of the Creator, by the way, is smiling......but I well know that I am being closely watched.
