Northern Exposure - Fine TV Programming
The old TV Series, Northern Exposure, is probably my all-time favorite TV show.
It took place in a small town in Alaska. Some of the main characters were:
Joel, a dis-placed big-city medical professional (Physician), played by Rob Morrow, who happens to be gay.
Maggie, an attractive, young free-spirit, Joel's sexual protagonist
Ed, a goofy young guy, a likeable kid
Chris, the local radio stations #1 DJ, another free-spirit
Chris' half-brother, a young black man, wandering, searching for his roots
Last night I watched a popular new TV Program called "Men In Trees".
It takes place in a small town in Alaska. Some of the main characters are:
A dis-placed medical professional (sociologist), a woman, played by Ann Heche, who was famously gay for awhile
A fellow who does local odd jobs, an attractive, young free-spirit, the sociologist's sexual protagonist
The local Radio Stations Main DJ, a goofy young guy, a likeable kid
The DJ's half-brother, a young black man, wandering, searching for his roots, who happens to be gay
I am sure that, if I continue to watch Men In Trees, I will find the characters, such as Holling and his wife, Maurice, the old lady store-keeper, Adam and Eve, and the chubby, quiet Indian girl, too, eventually!
Can there be any more blatant rip-off in existence? This show is a crock!

Norm!
Howdy! I've enjoyed your comments from time to time on the Desert USA site. I lurk there sometimes and once in a long while post there, although I've forgotten my password. I had bookmarked your blog one time and happened upon it again tonight to see you blogging about one of my favorite TV shows. In fact, just tonight my husband and I watched a recorded VHS tape of my favorite Northern Exposure episode called "Spring Break," where some of Cicely's townsfolk's libidos run amok while awaiting the ice to break. Remember that one? And at the end the men of Cicely do the annual "Running of the Bulls." Miss that show. It wasn't as good toward the end of its run, but there were many fine episodes. I haven't read much of your blog, but I always enjoy your posts on Desert USA.
God bless,
A Tucson Norm! Fan
